In-Person Course
The Drake Road Races courses highlight the beautiful Drake campus and the heart of Des Moines. The 5K and 10k races are flat and fast and our half marathon is a scenic fan favorite featuring the charming Waterbury and Beaverdale neighborhoods.

All distances start outside Drake Stadium on Forest Avenue.
Finish Line:
On the iconic Blue Oval inside Drake Stadium.
The route is run on a closed street course monitored by the Des Moines Police Department and Drake Relays officials. Aid stations and portable toilets are available on all three courses. The residential course for the half marathon is protected for a 3 hour time limit or a 14:00 minute per mile pace.
Virtual Run
The Virtual Run gives you the freedom to run anywhere and everywhere! This is your virtual run, and we want you to complete it wherever you want. You can run on sidewalks, trails, treadmill – make this your own run. Want to run with a stroller or your pet? Do it!
